A Message from Judith Heumann

On a maroon background, the text reads, “If I have to feel thankful about an accessible bathroom, when am I ever gonna be equal in the community?” Underneath it, in a white area, there's a headshot of Judith Heumann and the text, "Late American disability rights activist." The A Life Worth Living logo sits in the bottom-right corner.

Accessibility is a right, not a privilege.

No one should have to feel grateful for basic accessibility. When something as essential as an accessible bathroom is seen as a special accommodation rather than a standard, it raises a bigger question: When will true equality exist?

Creating a truly inclusive world means going beyond compliance and recognizing that accessibility should be the norm, not an afterthought.

At A Life Worth Living, we are committed to advocating for a future where everyone can fully participate in their communities without barriers.

It’s time to move past “just enough” and start striving for real equity.
